Nicholas R. Sheridan, 79, of Cherry Hill, NJ and formerly of Wilkes-Barre, PA, passed away on Friday June 22nd at Kennedy University Hospital, Cherry Hill, NJ. He was the son of Nicholas and Mary Sheridan of Wilkes-Barre, PA. He and his beloved wife Ellen Anstett Sheridan, were the proud parent of Nicky Sheridan, who had predeceased them. Nick was a graduate of Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre. After graduating he began a long and prestigious career working for Balester Optical. Nicholas began working there as a teen in the stock room, he pursued his ambitions and became a sales representative. Working his way from the stock room, Nick ultimately received the title of Sales Manager, which he embraced with great dignity. He truly loved his job and considered the Balester family and his many co-workers and associates to be among his dearest friends. Nick became a certified group leader for the Dale Carnegie Pubic Speaking Seminar, which facilitated his role as sales enthusiast, spanning a fifty-year career. He was active in the Cherry Hill Lions Club and was extremely proud to have achieved the, “Lion of the Year” award. A man of profound faith, Nick served his Catholic community as a Eucharistic Minister for his parish, Christ Our Light, Cherry Hill, NJ. A man of superb character, he came to the aid of countless men and women who, like himself, struggled with life’s pressures and demands. A man of genuine kindness and love Nick will forever be remembered by his family, as a source of great comfort and warmth. In addition to his parent, Nick was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas Sheridan Jr., his sister, Ann Sheridan, to whom Nick showed undying love and support. His mother and father-in-law Margaret and Charles Ansett. His sister and brother-in-law Molly and Richard Lipfert and many aunts, uncle and cousins. He leaves behind his beloved wife, of over 60 years, Ellen. His sister-in-law Jeannie (Phil) Keating of Port Jervis, NY, his brother in law Charles (Zita) Ansett of Wilkes-Barre, PA, many nieces and nephews and many devoted friend, including Bill and Rich. Loving husband, faithful friend, unrelenting advocate- Nick will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
